         Audition Information

Auditions for our 2008-2009 season will be held on May 17 and 18, 2008. We are now accepting applications for all instruments at all levels. Please register online (via link below) and you will be contacted in March to schedule the time and date. Audition requirements are listed below. Placement in one of our five ensembles will be at the discretion of the music director.

All applicants should be prepared to perform two selections, one demonstrating rapid technical playing and the other demonstrating slow lyrical playing.  The excerpts may be from one piece or two separate pieces and should be music the applicant is secure in playing, not something that is currently being studied.  Scales, as learned, will be required.  Sight reading may also be requested.  Your audition will take approximately 10 minutes at which time you and your parents will be advised of the result.

PLEASE NOTE: All string applicants must be studying currently with a private teacher and have completed a MINIMUM of 2 years of private study by the summer of 2007. All wind and percussion applicants must be studying currently with a private teacher and have completed a MINIMUM of 1 year of private study by the summer of 2007; 2 years of private study is recommended.
