2) Submit online registration form (this will automatically generate the Tuition Form and Enrollment Contract pages)
3) Print both the Tuition Form and Enrollment Contract, complete, and sign where requested.
4) Send both the Tuition form and the Enrollment Contract, together with your check for the non-refundable tuition (in the amount of $260 per child plus any applicable waivers or fees) to the address indicated on the Tuition Form. Or: request financial aid by checking the appropriate box on the Tuition Form
REMEMBER - registration deadline is June 30th, 2008 - all requests for financial aid must also be submitted by this date and a late fee of $50 will be charged for tuition payments postmarked after this date (except for new members who audition after June 15).
Once we are in possession of these items your child will be registered and you will receive an enrollment confirmation by e-mail. In early August you will be sent the link leading to printable pdf files of the music, as well as the schedule, hard copy of the handbook, and other relevant information for the new season. These materials (with the exception of the music) will also be available on our website: www.yobc.org.
Before you continue with the registration process please read the following YOBC policies. You will be asked on the enrollment contract to confirm that you have read and understood them.
Attendance:
a. Expectations for musicians: Regular attendance is crucial for ensembles to perform at their very best. When joining YOBC, each musician is making a commitment to work together with his or her colleagues to create a quality ensemble. Therefore, it is expected for musicians to attend every rehearsal whenever possible, and abide by the YOBC attendance policy below.
b. Policy: Each musican is allowed up to a maximum of three absences during one concert season. Dress rehearsals are mandatory. Rare exceptions to this policy may be made for individual musicians based on the needs of YOBC and only upon pre-approval of the Music Director, Robert Loughran, and the Chairman, Joseph Hochreiter, at the beginning of the semester.
All absences must be submitted online, preferably before the rehearsal to be missed, but no later than five days after the missed rehearsal. If there is some reason why an online form cannot be submitted, the member must contact the Business Manager to explain. Unexcused absences (no-show with no reason given) will not be tolerated. A warning will be issued after the first unexcused absence, a second unexcused absence will result in dismissal from YOBC.
When a musician has reached the maximum number of allowed absences, he/she will be notified by an e-mail or letter stating that additional absences will be unacceptable. Should extenuating circumstances require approval of an additional absence, this request must be personally presented in writing to the Conductor of the ensemble in which the musician is a member, at least two weeks in advance. The Music Director will then review the situation with the Conductor and make a decision whether to authorize or refuse the request. Failure to obtain authorization may result in loss of seat, suspension from playing in the concert, or, in extreme cases, dismissal from YOBC.
c. Note: YOBC supports
the public and private school music programs in Bucks County. You must attend
rehearsals and perform with your school group, but have a clear understanding
with the school conductor that you value the experience provided by your YOBC
group. All conflicts with the school music program should be reported to the
ensemble conductor as soon as they are known, preferably at the beginning of the
semester.
Instrument liability: YOBC is not responsible for damage to instruments occuring during any YOBC events (rehearsals, concerts, tours, etc.). We recommend that each musician have their instruments insured.
Participation in school music program: Each YOBC musician is required to participate in his or her school music program as available. If you choose to ignore this requirement and your child is identified by the school as failing to comply, then we will have no choice but to terminate membership, effective immediately.
