YOBC New Member Auditions

Auditions for the 20th Season (2010-11) of the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County were held May 15 and 16, 2010 at Bucks County Community College, in Newtown, PA. We currently have openings and are accepting new applications for the following instruments : 

     * Bassoon - all levels

     * Percussion - all levels
     * Baritone Saxophone - all levels
     * Strong Trumpets - all levels
     * Baritone Horn - Wind Ensemble
     * French horn - Wind Ensemble

     * Viola - Junior level

If you are interested in joining YOBC, please register on our website ("Request an Audition"). Your information will be held in the event of an opening. Otherwise you will be contacted regarding an audtion next spring for the following season. Audition guidelines appear below; specific requirements are listed on the links at the left.

General Audition Guidelines

* Choose audition solos and scales that represent your current level of playing.
* Audition music should be thoroughly prepared and not music the student is still learning.
* Students should consult their private teacher for selection and preparation of audition music.
* Bring an extra copy of your music to the audition for the auditioners.
* The audition will take approximately 10 minutes. In most cases, students and parents will be advised of the results at the end of the audition.

Additional Requirements

All students must participate in their school music program as available and currently be studying with a private teacher. Use the navigation bar on the left for more specific requirements for your instrument.
