Topics and Course Objective:
This course provides a forum in which students develop essential skills needed to perform creatively within a large jazz ensemble. Improvisation concepts will be explored with careful attention given to the development of effective ensemble performance techniques, such as phrasing, balance, blend, and jazz articulation. Repertoire studied will be performed in a public concert at the end of the semester.
